Jerry first designed and implemented a
clay model of "Lakota War Chief" to use as a reference during the carving
progress.
The first set of photos below are of the
clay model. The second set follows the carving progress and shows the
finished piece.
The sculpture was carved in basswood,
painted with a mixture of burnt umber and barn red acrylic paint, and
finished with satin polyurethane.
