This mantel was commissioned for our
customer's lovely home in Northwestern Iowa. It is carved in basswood with an oak shelf and trim and
features
morning glories carved across the face of the mantel and the initial "V" as a
center focal point. After approving Jerry's design our customer wrote,
"The drawings show even more detail and carving than I had hoped for, and I
am just delighted with the intricacy of the details." Their beautiful
home is showcased with morning glories in stained glass and their desire was
to continue the theme on the new mantel.
They requested that their mantel be
delivered in person, so we traveled to their home and had a wonderful time
with new dear friends Arnie and Ardene. Ardene wrote later, "We have
had a little parade of 'lookers' here and the reaction is unanimous that the
mantel is truly wonderful. No one can understand how the petals,
leaves, stems, and vines look like individual works of art." This mantel was completed in March 2005. Hi Arnie and
